You already know how to get your clients results.
This program teaches you how to help them get there.

Not understanding exactly how to structure and what to say in your counselling sessions is exactly why your clients are booking one session and ghosting.

A thriving practice is built on great client results but great results only come with great retention.

Elevate helps make this your reality.

Yes, I want to Elevate my practice

The session didn't feel right. But you weren't sure why — or what to do differently.

Most dietitians are trained in what clients need to change. The evidence-based interventions. The clinical recommendations. The gold standard approach for a given condition. What training almost never covers is the conversation on how to engage someone long-term so they can meet their goals — how to structure your sessions, how to help people move through their barriers to change and how to navigate the moment when a client pushes back, shuts down, or simply isn't making progress.

So dietitians default to what they know best — sharing information. But information without the right counselling process can overwhelm clients, make sessions feel repetitive, and quietly erode your retention without you realising why. Without a counselling framework, sessions can feel uncertain and like you are winging them. Your clients who initially agreed with everything in the previous consult come back not having been able to follow through. When you are not sure how to navigate these conversations, that uncomfortable feeling that you're not helping them can creep up and hinder your confidence.

If clients aren't rebooking, it's common to question their motivation or readiness for change — but often that's not the main issue. A low client retention is often a sign that the counselling process you are using does not match what your clients need to prepare for, initiate and maintain eating behaviour change. And that's not a personal failing. It's a training gap.

It's worth asking yourself a hard question: are your sessions giving them a real reason to come back — and have you shown them you have the skills to help with not just the what of change, but the how?

When counselling skills are underdeveloped, sessions stay surface-level and general. One of the main reasons people don't come back to see their dietitian is when they feel the information shared was not customised enough to their needs — their deep goals for improving their health, their barriers to change and their capacity for change. You share the recommendations, the client agrees, and then nothing changes — because the conversation never got to what was actually in the way. They don't rebook because they don't see the point. They already know what they should do. What they haven't had is a conversation that helped them understand why they're not doing it and what to do about that.

That's the skill set Elevate helps you build. What to say, when to say it, and how to say it so clients open up, identify their own barriers, and find solutions that actually fit their life. When that happens, sessions feel more productive and your client walks away feeling empowered and motivated to make change. With a better structure and process, clients engage, make progress, and keep rebooking — because working with you is getting them closer to their goals every single session. This is how you create a sustainable private practice with a roster of clients that keep coming back.

"Don't take our word for it — here's what dietitians who've completed Elevate are saying.

"Prior to Elevate I had no clear structure and got stuck so many times in sessions - not knowing where to go or what to ask. Now my consultations have structure, I feel more confident in tougher situations, and I feel more connection with my clients.

My client retention has improved and so have my reviews. If you have any concern at all with your counselling abilities, you will not be disappointed."

 Devon H, RD

"Since Elevate, my counselling process is more structured, defined and clear. I have gained more confidence in the counseling I deliver in terms of having a more structured way of counseling. Previously, I felt all over the place and was unsure if I was saying the right thing or asking the right questions. Following this program, I now know exactly how to structure my initial and follow ups. My stress level for the initial consult is virtually gone now as there is not that expectation of delivering heavy nutrition education rather taking my time to truly get to know the client and deliver the best care. Stephanie makes this program so special! She has great experience and delivers a wonderful framework that is helpful beyond words! I have a clear framework that works, more confidence in my appointments and more self-worth as a dietitian!"

Stephanie has been teaching this framework to dietitians since 2015. She was awarded Dietitian of the Year 2024 at the Australian Allied Health Awards for her work developing counselling skills in dietitians and improving models of care.

Using this framework in her own practice, Stephanie reduced her no-show rate from 50% to 5% in just 12 months — not by changing her clinical knowledge, but by changing how she structured and delivered every session.

Frequently asked questions

  • How long do I have access to the program material?

Lifetime access. Once you enrol, all five modules and the presentation slides are yours to return to whenever you need them - whether that's refreshing the framework after a difficult session or revisiting a specific module as your practice evolves.

  • How is this different from motivational interviewing training?

Motivational interviewing gives you useful techniques for specific moments in a conversation. What Elevate provides is the full session structure - what to focus on in an initial appointment, how to build on that in follow-ups, and what to do when clients get stuck. As one dietitian who completed the program put it: "Information on motivational interviewing is helpful, but it doesn't provide the structure or sequence needed to support a client through the change process. The Elevate training provides you with that guidance." The two can complement each other well and Elevate covers the territory that MI training typically doesn't.

  • How long does each module take?

Each module is 60–90 minutes, with presentation slides provided for each. The program is completely self-paced - you can work through it across a week or take longer, fitting it around your existing schedule. Most dietitians find they can begin applying what they learn immediately, module by module, before they've finished the whole program.

  • Is this relevant to my practice setting?

Yes - the Elevate Framework is designed for dietitians working in any one-to-one setting, including private practice, outpatient services and community health. The counselling framework and session structure apply across conditions and client types. Dietitians from around the world have both found it directly applicable to their practice contexts.
